Johannes Bürger

Postdoc

Johannes investigates strong and ultrastrong light-matter coupling in two-dimensional material heterostructures made of transition metal dichalcogenides. His research aims to deepen the understanding of polariton physics at these extreme conditions and to explore the experimental limits in terms of the number of layers and the cavity design. Johannes previously worked at the Chair in Hybrid Nanosystems (LMU Munich) of Prof. Stefan Maier and graduated with a PhD in Physics in 2024. His PhD research covered a range of topics including 3D nanoprinting, hollow-core waveguides, metasurfaces for OAM holography, chiral BIC metasurfaces, and nanoparticle spectroscopy.
