Quantum fluids of light
Published on 2019-08-09, by Daniele Sanvitto.
Cnr-Nanotec researchers have demonstrated that it is possible to create a Josephson junction in quantum superfluids of polaritons. Analogously to what happens between superconductors separated by an insulator, an artificial Josephson junction was observed for the first time in fluids of interacting light, due to the phase difference between two quantum fluids. The study was conducted in collaboration with the Physics Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and is published in Nature Photonics. Read more here.
