Light-matter interaction, when above a critical strength, produces fascinating effects beyond our every-day experience. With the constant development of material science and nanofabrication capabilities, a deeper insight into the fundamental laws of physics is at reach and new technologies, safer and cheaper, can be brought to real life. Connections: phase-transitions, condensation and lasing – organic material, strong coupling and quantum light – optical network-on- chip and neurophotonics.
